Not sure which you need?
Book an exam. Dr. Sayeed will show you what he finds and explain your options before anything starts.
Save the tooth, or replace it?
Dr. Sayeed starts by asking whether your tooth can be saved. Keeping a natural tooth is usually simpler and costs less over time than replacing it.
Saving a damaged tooth
- A filling for a small or medium cavity
- A crown for a cracked, worn or heavily filled tooth
- A root canal when infection reaches the nerve, usually followed by a crown
Replacing a missing tooth
- A dental implant for a fixed tooth that leaves neighbors untouched
- A bridge anchored to the teeth on either side of the gap
- A denture for several or all teeth in a jaw
How your treatment plan is made
- Exam and X-rays. Dr. Sayeed checks the tooth, the gums and the bone, with digital X-rays or a 3D scan where it helps.
- Your options, explained. He shows you what he sees and what each option involves, including how many visits and how long it should last.
- Costs before you start. The team checks your insurance benefits and gives you the cost in writing.
- One step at a time. Urgent problems come first. The rest can be spread over visits that suit you.
Restorative dentistry questions
Patients come to us from Kingston, Port Ewen, Lake Katrine, Hurley, Rosendale, Rhinecliff, Saugerties and across Ulster County.
What is restorative dentistry?
It is the part of dentistry that repairs or replaces teeth: fillings, crowns, root canals, bridges, dentures and implants. The aim is healthy, comfortable teeth that work properly.
What is the difference between restorative and cosmetic dentistry?
Restorative treatment fixes damage or replaces teeth; cosmetic treatment changes how healthy teeth look. Many restorations, such as tooth-colored crowns, do both. See our cosmetic dentistry options.
Is restorative dentistry covered by insurance?
Usually in part. Most plans pay toward fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges and dentures. We check your benefits before treatment so you know your share.
