A dental emergency in Saugerties: what to do
Being close helps when something goes wrong. Call us first on the days we are open; we keep time for urgent problems.
| Problem | Right now | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Knocked-out tooth | Hold it by the crown, rinse gently, keep it in milk | Call straight away; it is most likely to be saved within the hour |
| Broken or chipped tooth | Keep any piece, rinse with warm water | Call for the earliest appointment |
| Toothache | Rinse, floss gently, take a pain reliever | Call; most toothaches need the tooth checked soon |

Routine care close to home
Most Saugerties patients see us twice a year.
- Checkup and cleaning every six months, in one visit of about an hour.
- X-rays only when they are due, usually every year or two.
- Small problems fixed early, such as a filling, before they need a crown.
Bigger treatment, same office
dental implants, root canals and crowns are all done here, so you are not sent elsewhere. Implants are planned on our own 3D scanner, and crowns start with a digital scan instead of impression putty.
Questions from Saugerties patients
Or call 845-336-5855.
How long is the drive from Saugerties?
About 15 to 20 minutes: one Thruway exit, or Route 9W or 32.
Can you see me quickly for a broken tooth?
Call as early as you can on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and we will offer the earliest appointment we have.
Do you see teens?
Yes, from age 15. We mainly see adults and teens.
Do I need a referral for implants or a root canal?
No. Dr. Sayeed does both in our office. He has done more than 4,000 root canals and placed more than 100 implants.
What insurance do you take?
Most PPO plans, plus CSEA and Kingston Trust Fund plans. We check your benefits first.

For one exit it is small and cashless. Route 9W is free and only a few minutes slower.
How often should I have a cleaning?
Every six months suits most people. With gum disease, every three or four months keeps it under control.
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes, in the office in one visit or with custom trays at home. See teeth whitening.
