Getting here from Hudson
There are two good ways down from Columbia County. Open our address in Google Maps for directions from your door.
Route 9G and the Rhinecliff bridge
South on 9G through Germantown and Tivoli, then west on Route 199 over the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. About 32 miles.
Rip Van Winkle Bridge and the Thruway
West over the Rip Van Winkle Bridge (Route 23) to Catskill, then the Thruway south from exit 21 to exit 19. Similar time.
Both bridges charge only eastbound, so the toll is on your way home; the Thruway is cashless. Patients also come from Greenport, Claverack, Germantown and Livingston.
Planning treatment around a 45-minute drive
Most Hudson patients come for larger treatment. This is how many trips each one usually takes, so you can plan.
| Treatment | Drives from Hudson | What can share a trip |
|---|---|---|
| Exam and cleaning | One | X-rays when due, and a small filling if there is time |
| Crown | Two | Your next cleaning, if it is due around the fitting |
| Root canal | Usually one | Preparing the tooth for its crown, when it is safe |
| Veneers | Two or three | Whitening the other teeth first, at the planning visit |
| Implant | About four over a few months | The 3D scan, taken at your consultation visit |
| Dentures or implant dentures | Several fittings | Extractions, if needed, planned with the first fitting |

What Hudson patients come to us for
Implant dentures
Snap-in or fixed dentures held by dental implants, so they stop slipping. The 3D scan, planning and placement all happen here, which saves separate trips to an imaging center or surgeon.
Crowns and veneers
Tooth-colored crowns in two visits and porcelain veneers in two or three, each started with a digital scan instead of putty.
You get a written plan with costs and the number of visits before anything starts.
Making the first trip count
Call before your first visit and we will check your insurance, ask your current dentist for recent X-rays and book the longest slot we can, so the exam, any X-rays and a cleaning can be done together.
If you need larger treatment, Dr. Sayeed explains the options at that first visit and gives you a written plan with the costs and the number of trips, so you can decide at home before booking anything else.
Questions from Hudson patients
Or call 845-336-5855.
How long is the drive from Hudson?
About 45 minutes and 32 miles, by Route 9G and the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge or by the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and the Thruway.
Is the toll each way?
No. The Kingston-Rhinecliff and Rip Van Winkle bridges only charge eastbound, on the drive home.
Where should I go in a dental emergency at night?
If swelling spreads to your eye or neck, or you have a fever or trouble swallowing, go to the emergency room at Columbia Memorial Health in Hudson. For a toothache or broken tooth, call us when we open.
Do you make implant dentures?
Yes. Dentures held by implants stop slipping and can be snap-in or fixed. See dentures.
Can I combine visits?
Often, yes. Checkups and cleanings are booked together, and larger treatment is planned so each trip does as much as is safe.
